The Tavern on Liberty (formally known as Woody’s) is one of the most popular student venues near the Muhlenberg campus for 21+. Accessible on foot, The Tavern is located directly across the street from the ML parking lot. Featuring 20 taps and over 375+ bottles, The Tavern on Liberty is the place to be if you’re of age and don’t want to travel off campus for a fun night. The bartenders recognize customers by name and provide a fun, inviting, and efficient atmosphere. I’ve never been much of a fan of the food at the Tavern, but I highly recommend their New York style pizza. Drop in on Wednesday nights until midnight and get their amazing pizza for $1 a slice! Others swear by their wings, burgers, and chicken parm sandwich, but in my opinion, their other food is a bit too overpriced for its quality. However, the beer selection is incredible for a small establishment and to quote Cheers “you want to be where everybody knows your name!” If you’re 21+, stop in today, you won’t regret it!
